A gang of shoplifting youth that combined forces terrorizing high end department stores through out NYC and the Tri-State area. Their primary choice of dress was exclusive Polo by Ralph Lauren garments. The crew originated in 1988 when two different boosting clicks from Brooklyn joined forces to create the Lo-Lifes. The word "Lo" is the shortened slang name for Polo. So interms to be a Lo-Life a true meant to live a life of Polo. These stories detail a time and era of New York when crime was rampant, crack cocaine was terrorizing the streets, jobs were scarce, youth programs were depleting and welfare was immobilizing families. Youth were often left to fend for themselves and were neglected by absent or drug addictive parents. Lack of basic necessities for a lot of us such as food, clothing and shelter was the catalyst to what was to become a crimewave by a band of modern day robin hoods that had the same taste as Wall Street bankers and the people who summered in Hamptons. These episodes focus on the Lo-Lifes impact on Hip-Hop fashion and culture who have been accredited with meshing 5th ave fashion and Hip-Hop culture. Each episode will feature different founding members who helped contribute to the movement.
